Screening and Treatment Camp at Shristi Special Academy
 Conducted a screening and treatment camp to the differently abled children of Shristi Special Academy, Magadi road on 24th of January 2023 where all the children were screened and majority were treated for dental diseases.

Indian Cancer Society
In coordination with Indian Cancer Society the department conducted door-door survey for oral cancer screening in and around different villages in Kanakapura in July 2021 and March 2022. Biopsy specimens were also taken. The villagers were educated on different aspects of oral cancer and about healthy oral habits.

Invited As Guest Speaker For PATHFINDER VI Program

Prof. Dr. Nagesh L, Head of Department of Public Health Dentistry was invited as guest speaker for PATHFINDER VI program held in KLE Society's Institute of Dental Sciences in association with Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry.

Dates: 7th and 8th February 2019.

WORKSHOP ON CRITICAL EVALUATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, DSCDS are proud to report that we successfully organized and conducted a WORKSHOP ON CRITICAL EVALUATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES on the 30th and 31st of January 2019.The workshop was designed to help every participant to apply the knowledge of basics of Health research and Health statistics into application through group activities. We had a total of 78 registrations for this program which included 55 postgraduates and 23 faculty from different dental colleges in Karnataka. Dr Nagesh L, the chief resource person for the workshop, along with Dr Puja C Yavagal and Dr Shyam Sivasamy were the resource persons for this CDE program.This workshop enabled the delegates to develop critical evaluation skills for different study designs and will help them in future to convert the descriptive journal clubs into critical evaluation journal clubs. The sessions were very interactive and productive discussions happened between the participants and the resource persons.

Dental and Medical Camp at Wayanad, Kerala

Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry under the Aegis of National Service Scheme (NSS), Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences participated in the Medical and Dental camp organized by the Swamy Vivekananda Medical Mission, Muttil, Wayanad, Kerala. The medical mission is an NGO which works for the betterment of the Adivasis and the tribals of the Wayanad district. The hilly terrain makes the availability of medical facilities even more difficult.

A team of 8 dental doctors from the college reached Muttil, Wayanad on 31st December, 2018.

Several patients were screened and treated for various Oral conditions/ disorders/ Dental Caries and Infections. Oral Health Awareness was also conducted on site.

INVITED SPEAKER AT NATIONAL LEVEL WORKSHOP

Prof.Dr.Nagesh L, Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences was an Invited Speaker at the National Level Workshop on Questionnaire designing and Validation, Qualitative research, conducted on 21st and 22nd December, 2018 at the KM Shah Dental College and Hospital, Baroda.

It was attended by Dental, Physiotherapy and Managerial faculty and students.
