Course Details


  • Measurement of oral diseases/conditions are done on the patient using different indices (Total of 11 indices are practiced)
  • Preventive care program:
  • Pit and fissure sealants
  • Fluoride application
  • Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART)
  • Field visits
  • On a weekly basis 2 seminars employing audiovisual aids and power point presentations as well as 2 journal club/critical evaluation using power point presentations and problem based approach are presented by the students
  • Competitive quiz and interactive debate sessions to ensure active student participation.
  • Students are given assignments on allotted topics to do detailed review of literature which is later refined by book clubs, group discussion with faculty.
  • Record detailed case history with appropriate indices and performing comprehensive dental care.
  • Regular postings in satellite service clinics in semi urban and urban areas.
  • Training the students in research and completing their dissertation.
  • The post graduate students constantly upgrade their knowledge and academic skills through various conferences and CDE/ workshops programmes conducted at regular intervals.
