Periodontology is the branch of dentistry that encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of supporting tissues of the teeth and their artificial substitutes. With separate clinics for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Department has high instructional quality and research which associates its pursuit of excellence with a long-term perspective. An integral part of the Dentistry, the Department of Periodontology is committed to expanding its educational program, transferring scientific knowledge through study and discovery and enhancing the superior skills of our students, faculty and staff. We offer our students an opportunity to interact and participate in exceptional patient care, education and scholarly work.
The Periodontology Program teaches the scientific basis of specialty practice, and offers a high level of competence in the diagnosis of oral diseases, periodontology and dental implant treatment planning, comprehensive therapy, and follow-up of patients with periodontal diseases. Various innovative treatment modalities are introduced to the students which includes DENTAL IMPLANT PLACEMENT, LASER ASSISTED SURGERIES and MICROSURGERY. Strong emphasis is placed on developing academic ability and technical proficiency, while maintaining a sense of professional responsibility and social obligation.
Located in an attractive modern building that offers well-organized space and the latest equipment for teaching and research, we have departmental clinic facilities, laboratories, clinical research space.
