Department of Periodontology, DSCDS celebrated 'Oral Hygiene Day' on 1st of August 2022 to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. G B Shankwalkar, the founder of the Indian Society of Periodontology. August 1st to August 7th is considered as oral hygiene week. Free samples of tooth paste and mouthwash were distributed to patients, oral hygiene awareness instructions were given.

Dr Archana Madhu Naik, Reader, Department of Periodontology, explained different aspects of oral diseases and its importance and the impact of oral diseases on overall health was conveyed. Dr Koduru Sravani presented a talk on “biomedical waste management and segregation”
Lecture and Hands-on training on CURADEN iTOP- individually trained oral prophylaxis was conducted on 7/11/2023 which is also observed as “National Brushing Day”.
