HOD's Message
Hello and welcome to the department of Pedododontics and Preventive Dentistry. Our department is an all-encompassing branch of dentistry involving treatment of children including those with special health care needs. We are proud to offer this service at the Dayanand Sagar College of Dental sciences.
We provide a robust dental undergraduate education whilst providing comprehensive dental care to our patients. We are proud to offer excellent clinical training utilizing state of the art technology. Our well trained and friendly staff focuses on teaching according to the current curriculum requirements.
The department focuses on preparing dental students to provide efficient and superior quality dental services to an ever-increasing population of children. The students are also taught to manage physically, mentally disabled and medically compromised children in an efficient and orderly manner. We also undertake various dental health programs with an aim to enhance undergraduate education.
As dentistry advances, greater emphasis is placed upon prevention to maintain ideal oral health. The department implements the principles of preventive dentistry through education of parents and community by conducting camps where students are encouraged to participate. To this end, the department has also adopted many schools around the college location.
Our graduates have participated in research projects and have presented papers in various local and national conferences. Also our graduates have gone on to do very well whether it is in the pursuit of higher education, academics or dental practice. We assure you a fruitful undergraduate program.
